A Variable ID can be created at any level of the CimEdit screen hierarchy. This includes:
The screen
A group
A subgroup (nested groups)
An object
If you define the same Variable ID at more than one level of the hierarchy CimEdit:
First looks for the Variable ID in the object you are configuring.
If the Variable ID is not there, CimEdit goes to the next level up in the hierarchy,
If necessary, continues to the next levels, to find an object that references that variable.
