Example: Create a Source Object Expression

Apply class attributes and data items to CimEdit Expression fields in the Properties dialog boxes for objects in the source group objects.

A

Select the cutout in a tank group on the source CimEdit screen.

Open the Properties - Object dialog box.

 

Note: The object in the group (Fill Cutout) displays in the title bar.

Select the Rotation/Fill tab.

Enter the expression {$OBJECT}.LEVEL.

 

Where

 

{$OBJECT} is a variable that will be substituted with the class object name.

LEVEL is the data item

If the class object is TANK1, the expression will equal TANK1.LEVEL.

Enter fill specifications that will be used by the class object.

  1. Review the class object's configuration.

In CimEdit, the fill configuration on the Rotation/Fill tab in the Properties - Class object dialog box is read-only.

In CimView, TANK1.LEVEL controls the fill display in the tank.
