About the Ethernet Global Data Service

The Ethernet Global Data Service (EGD Service) requires the Series 90 TCP/IP application.

Use the Series 90 TCP/IP documentation for details about the Series 90 TCP/IP configuration configuration.

EGD determines whether the global data it has on hand is current. Data that is not current is displayed as "unavailable" in CIMPLICITY software. This does not mean that the device is unavailable, just that the data available to the EGD Service is not current.

Conversely, if the device does become unavailable, EGD data does not become unavailable until the EGD Service determines that the data is not current.
