Step 4. Configure SPC Chart Properties

You can choose to display a report or a chart, and you can also customize the look of your display in the SPC Control Properties dialog box.

  1. Select the Chart tab.

  2. The drop-down list in the Type field will display two or more options: Report and available chart type(s). The chart type is dependent on the QC selected in the General properties and the configuration calculated for the product. The following types may be available in the drop-down list:

Defect QC

Variable QC

Attribute QC

Pareto chart

XBar-R or XBar-S

P chart

Report

X-Individual

nP chart

  1. In the Max to display field, enter the maximum number of subgroups or samples to display on the chart using the following guidelines:

  1. Enter the time in hh:mm:ss to update chart data in the Update Interval field.

Note: This field is disabled if you are using logged data.

  1. Configure a chart title as follows:

  1. Enter a Title for your report or chart

  2. Check Show title to display the title on screen.

  3. Click Font to display the Font dialog box and adjust the font, style and size of your title.

  1. Select the colors for your chart or report as follows:

  1. Click the arrows in the Foreground, Background and Chart fields to display the color Palette.

  2. Select colors or options (including ambient properties) to customize the display of your report or chart.

  1. Check the Show legend box if you want to display legend information on your report or chart.

  2. Check Exclusion Mode if you want to enable exclusion mode on your chart.

  3. Enter number 1 through 6 in the Precision field to specify the precision of the measurement after a decimal point.

  1. Specify the Subgroup, Weight, and Length for Moving Averages.
