Place a ThinView Icon on a Windows CE Desktop

  1. Open Windows Explorer.

  2. Open the Program files folder.

  3. Open the CIMPLICITY ThinView folder.

  4. Select ThinView.exe.

  5. Click Edit on the Windows Explorer menu bar.

  6. Select Copy.

  7. Close Windows Explorer.

  8. Do one of the following:

Note: The option you use depends on the Windows CE device features.

Press Alt or

Tap on the left icon bar.

  1. Tap the Windows CE desktop.

  2. Select Paste Shortcut on the popup menu.

Result: You can now click the ThinView icon to open the Connect to CIMPLICITYâ Server dialog box.

You can configure the icon to bypass the Connect to CIMPLICITYâ Server dialog box and connect directly to a specified CimView screen on the server. This is particularly useful if you have more than one CimView screen that you regularly use as an initial screen. You can simply create and configure more than one icon.
