Step 4. Establish Secured Access for Web Pages

In order to take full advantage of network printing, a user must be designated who has full permission to all the network devices that are being used in the Broadcast project.

  1. Select the directory you have created in the Internet information Services window.

  2. Click the Properties button on the Internet Information Services toolbar.

The directory’s Properties dialog box opens.

  1. Select the Directory Security tab.

  1. Click Edit.

The authentication Methods dialog box opens.

  1. Check Anonymous access.

The Edit button is enabled.

  1. Click Edit.

A New dialog box opens.

  1. Do the following.

Allow IIS to control password

Clear

B

Username

Enter a network user ID.

 

 

The user should have full permissions for all the network devices that are being used in the Broadcast project

Important: Make sure the user is added to the local administrator group on the machine that is running the IIS server.

C

Password

Enter the password required to access the IIS.

 

 

The user password should never expire.

  1. Click OK to close the Authentication Methods dialog box.

  2. Click OK to close the Properties dialog box.
