Summary:
If you edit a database device record, the associated physical device is not edited. For example if the device is a dBase type device and you add an extra field into the device, when you run Citect the extra field will not be added to existing database files. New files will be created with the edited fields.

Solution:
If you change the fields in a database type device and you would like to keep the existing device database data, you must manually copy the data. To do this you will need to use dBase, Excel or other database tools.

If you don't need to keep the existing data then just delete the existing database files. The next time Citect tries to open the device it will create the database with the required fields.
