Question: I want to Install Citect on the local drive of all computers on my Network. Can I Install it on the file server and then install on the local computers without using the floppy disks? |
Solution: |
To install Citect onto a Network to allow
installation on local drives:
1). Create a directory on the file server to hold the Citect install files. Eg F:\INSTALL. 2). Copy all of the Citect install disks (except for the demo) into this directory. (If you want to install the demo, create another directory and copy the demo. Eg F:\INSTALL\DEMO.) 3). Run SETUP.EXE in the F:\INSTALL directory. The setup program will install Citect and will prompt you to insert each disk. When prompted, enter the path to the files, eg F:\INSTALL. 4). To install the demo, create a new DEMO project and use 'Backup/Restore' to restore the Demo. Select 'Restore' , Disk Drive (*) Other and enter F:\INSTALL\DEMO. |
