Applies To:
  • CitectSCADA 1.00, 1.01, 1.10, 1.11, 1.20, 2.00, 2.01

Summary:
If you have configured an ASCII device LPT1.DOS to send the alarms to a printer, Citect may stop responding (hang) if the printer is deselected. It may also cause Citect to pause for a short period (up to 3 minutes) if the printer buffer becomes full. During this pause, timeout errors to PLC may occur and the PLC may go offline. The exact errors occurring on the PLC protocol will depend on the type of protocol.

Solution:
CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.

The problem has been fixed and will be released in the next version after version 1.20 and 2.01. If you require this fix now contact Citect Support.
