This application note describes the use of
the Floorboard keyboard with CITECT. It provides a method of
standardising the programming of the keyboard, thereby saving
considerable time and effort.
General The Floorboard keyboard has sixty programmable function keys. Each function key can be programmed with a string of characters. This feature is not required for Citect because Citect provides keyboard Macros. Accordingly, each key has been assigned a standard keycode (shown in the attached drawings). A special ROM has been made for the Floorboard that eliminates the need to program the keyboard. If the keyboard has been purchased with a Citect system, the appropriate ROM will already be installed. Upgrading Standard Floorboard Keyboards The ROM can be located by removing the bottom cover of the keyboard. The special Citect ROM is labelled CONNIXXXX (where XXXX is a version number). If the keyboard has a ROM without the CONNI label, the ROM should be replaced. To remove the ROM use an IC extractor, or carefully prise the ROM out with a small scewdriver. Install the new ROM ensuring that the indentation of the ROM corresponds with that of the socket. |
