Under this condition, Citect will not copy
the data from one trend server to another. When no trend files
exist, Citect will create the trend files starting from the current
time. Citect is assuming you are starting the trend server for the
first time. We also decided that if you have lost the trend files
Citect should not copy the data from one trend server to another as
this could be a massive amount of data. This would cause large
delays and complicate the operation of the trend server for this
one off special case. It was decided under this case that it is
best to manually copy the trend files from one server to another
server.
You should copy the trend files yourself from the primary to the
standby trend server. It is much better to copy the files (with the
File manager) before you start the Trend server. You can copy only
the trend files if they are stored in the same directory. For
example if the trend files are stored in C:\CITECT\DATA on the
primary server, they must also be stored in C:\CITECT\DATA on the
Standby server.
If the trend server you are coping the files from is running, it
will be updating the trend files. In this case you should copy all
the *.HST files first, then the *.001 .. *.999 files. This will
keep the trend data in a valid state. |
