Summary:
When using the KE module for the Citect KF Protocol, the Driver Error 0x10500 appears randomly. This error is from the KE module. It is Local STS Error Code 05 which means 'Application layer timed out waiting for a response'.

AB in the USA and have confirmed that this is a bug in the firmware of the 1747 KE module. The KE fails some of the DH485 communications when the SLC replies to requests out of the original order. This accounts for the random appearance of the bug.  

Solution:
To work around this problem, put the CITECT.INI setting MaxPending=1 under the [KF] section. This forces Citect to make only one request at a time, thus avoiding the problem.

Allen Bradley expect to offer a fix for the KE module shortly.
