Summary:
Question: How do I delete Citect from my computer?

Solution:
If you are going to delete Citect from your Computer first make sure you have a backup of all your databases. When you follow this procedure any databases you have created will also be deleted.

First make sure nobody else on the network is running the Citect you are about to delete. If you delete Citect while someone else is running it Citect and Windows will crash.

Now delete all the icons from the Citect group in the Program manager then delete the group.

Almost all of Citect files are stored under the one directory structure. This is normally on your C:\ or network drive under a directory called \CITECT. You may check which directory by looking in the CITECT.INI file in your WINDOWS directory. In the CITECT.INI file under the [CTEDIT] BIN will contain the path to the Citect binary files. This would normally be C:\CITECT\BIN.

All the files in the \CITECT\BIN directory are marked as read only so you must remove the read only attribute before deleting. Then delete all files and directories from \CITECT down, including \CITECT. The only extra files you must delete are CITECT.INI and CTDRAW.INI in the WINDOWS directory.
