Summary:
Can I base a template on another template? This would be great for maintaining a consistent 'look and feel' to my interface, and still allowing me to make changes easily.

Solution:
First design the "parent" template. This is the template upon which other templates will be based. Once this is complete and saved as a template, you can begin creating the "child" templates.

First, select File|New, and pick Template for the type. Then type "<none>" in the Use Template edit box. The new template is blanker than blank, it's nothing!

Now import your parent template from the template library. Do this by selecting Edit|Link from Library, and selecting the library as "template". Then select your parent page as the object to link. This will appear as a full page object, so just move it to line up with the top left corner.

Now you can edit the new template however you choose, and if you want to update the parent template, changes will be seen in all the pages based on either the parent template or one of the child templates! (After you use update links).
