Summary:
Citect will load all low level serial board drivers, COMX, COMXI, PCXI and MCXI into memory even if they are not required. This will consume extra memory including the scarse memory below the 1Mb limit. This can cause Windows to run out of DOS memory and prevent Windows from starting new applications. You may get the Windows error message 'not enough memory to start application', while the Program Manager About box says that there is plenty of memory and system resources. See also Q1144.

Solution:
Citect for Windows version 3.xx and later will only load the low level serial drivers into memory which are required for you project. This will save Windows and DOS memory.
