Summary:
Question: If a device is #com break and you select a page that has animations of variables in that device then they don't appear for a while. Is this correct?  

Solution:
The data associated with a physical I/O Device which is going offline will not be displayed unit the I/O Server has finally given up on the device. During the initial timeout period and pages displaying data from this IO Device will not display any data. Once the I/O Server has put the I/O Device offline then any data read from this device will be displayed in #COM break immediately. So you will only get the delay during the initial time out period.
