Summary:
Event trends (made by selecting trend type as TRN_EVENT) should not be displayed using a normal (single or double) trend page. If you do it will seem to operate correctly, but the span time will be incorrect. 

Solution:
Event trends should be displayed using pages created from the Event trend page template or a derivative of it.

This problem has been fixed in CitectSCADA v6.0
A "cannot have mixed trends" hardware alarm is no longer displayed after adding
 the 'Event' trend onto the page which has a Periodic trend pen added into the
 same page.
