Summary:
Question: The description of the Citect manager node states it cannot write to any physical I/O devices. Can a manager node write to memory or disk PLCs? 

Solution:
The manager node can only write to memory I/O devices as the DISK PLC is counted as a physical device. You will receive the hardware error "Not in this version" (error number 317) if you try to write to any other type of I/O Device.
