Summary:
I need to install 2 by 16 port digiboards in my computer and I also have 32Mb of RAM. How can I fit the digiboards in my computer?

Solution:
The PCXi digiboard uses 64k block of memory to share data with Citect. The PCXe digiboard only uses a 8k block of memory to share data with Citect. (The PCXe board is not slower because of this, Citect just moves the window up and down to access the full 64k of shared buffers). Using the PCXe board allows you more room to put in several boards below the 1Mb limit. If you have 16Mb or more memory you can only install 1 PCXI digiboard below the 1Mb limit as generally only D000 is free. If you use PCXe digiboards you can install several boards at D000, D200, D400, D800 etc. The drop down in the Boards form only shows D000 and addresses over 1M to select from. However you can just type in the other addresses.
