Summary:
When using a Laptop computer the laptop never finds the software protection key and Citect always runs in Demo mode. I have tried using another size key and also one of the older keys but none of the keys are recognised. All of these keys are recognised by my desktop computer. 

Solution:
When using laptop computers, most users turn on power or energy saving features on their machines to extend use of their battery. However turning these features on causes Citect to be unable to find the protection key even if the laptop is plugged in to a power supply. So if your laptop is unable to find the key turn off these features. You can also test the protection key by connecting a powered on printer to the key, the key may be able to obtain enough power from the printer for Citect to recognise the key.
