Summary:
How do I set up the UNITEL protocol for Telemecanique PLCs? 

Solution:
The protocol definition requires very precise timing in the changes in handshaking signal levels. As a result the use of the standard COM ports will not work. As a result, you should use a Digiboard. A cheap Digiboard 2e is suitable.

Hardware setup:

  • TSX SCA 72 interface converter (Telemecanique)
  • TSX CSF 050 Cable PC --> interface (Telemecanique)
  • Adapter 25P --> 9P
  • Digiboard Acceleport 2e-ISA

Software setup:

  • Run the MSD program from a DOS prompt. Check the interrupt and memory usage
  • Config.sys: DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386 NOEMS X=D000-DFFF
  • System.ini EMMExclude=D000-DFFF
  • Install digiboard: Custom Wizard
  • Install Uni Telway: Custom Wizard

Port forms:

Port number must be set and the special options must be: -t .

Remove DS300 form in the Boards form and ensure the Uni Telway uses the Digiboard form setup by the custom wizard
