Summary:
The Citect help indicates that the Citect KE500 driver (DF1 half duplex protocol) supports Input image and Output image datatypes for the SLC500 series. However, when I have configured them and run the project the driver produces errors. Why? 

Solution:
The DF1 protocol for SLC500 series by Allen-Bradley does not actually support these datatypes. While the DF1 protocol supports these datatypes for other PLCs (e.g. PLC5 etc.), the SLC500 itself does not. The help and other appropriate files will be amended to accurately reflect that these datatypes are not supported for the SLC500 series. Until such time as the DF1 protocol and/or SLC500 series is changed by Allen-Bradley to include this support, the best method to access these types is to copy the images to another supported datatype (e.g. Binary datatype)
