Summary:
I am trying to connect a PLC via a modem. I am using the initialisation string in the Ports to dial the phone number, however the modem starts to dial the number and then hangs up. What is causing this problem. 

Solution:
The documentation for the delay syntax is incorrectly documented. The example shows a modem dial command as:

-iATDT8551010\M~(60)

This is incorrect the () should be {} brackets as follows:

-iATDT8551010\M~{60}

CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows versions 5.00 and 5.00 Service Pack A. This problem has been fixed in version 5.01.
