Summary:
When I am using a ProfiBoard to communicate Profibus FMS with a Siemens S7, Citect does not reconnect after a communication break. With the same configuration Citect does reconnect with an Siemens S5. Why? 

Solution:
CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows version 4.xx to 5.01.

As there is a difference in speed between a Siemens S7 and a Siemens S5 the default parameters in Citect.INI will not work properly with a Siemens S7. The FMS stack that takes care of the requests from each station on the FMS network will be filled up and the FMS_INITIATE from Citect will not go through to the Siemens S7.

By setting the following parameter in Citect.INI, Citect will be able to get the FMS_INITIATE through to the Siemens S7 and the connection will be reestablished

[ProfiBd]
ASS_ABT_CI=100

This is a temporary solution. We are researching the problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
