Summary:
I want to setup a secure Windows 95 or NT computer running only Citect. Where can I get the Microsoft Zero Administration Kit ( ZAK ) from and what are the requirements for running this?

Solution:
Information and a free download is available at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/zak/ or it can be ordered on CDROM from Microsoft.

The ZAK is based around the concept of system policies and requires an NT Server, acting as a primary domain controller ( PDC ). To run Citect as the only application available, the ZAK can be used to set the PC up in Task Station Mode.

The Minimum Network Configuration specified on the Microsoft site is -

  • One computer running Microsoft Windows NT Server version 4.0
  • Two computers capable of running Microsoft Windows 95 or NT Workstation version 4.0

All computers must be running TCP/IP
