Summary:
If you are using Windows NT 4.0 and are using NetBIOS over TCPIP (NetBT) for your Citect network communication then the following may be a problem.

Under high rates of data transfer between Citect stations you may receive the following hardware error

"NetBIOS Incomplete receive message"

 

Solution:
This is not caused by a Citect problem but is actually caused by a bug in Windows NT 4.0. This bug has been logged with Microsoft as bug 111194. They have provided a Hotfix to correct this problem which can be downloaded from our FTP server or obtained from your local Citect support office. Instructions on installing the Hotfix and contained in the zip file.

Currently if you are having this error it will not be causing serious problems. The only affect that this error has is that the network session on which the error has occurred is terminated and will need to be re-established by Citect. Therefore it may cause a temporary degrade in Citect network communication.

If you have any problems with this Hotfix please contact your local Citect support office.

This Hotfix should be included in Windows NT Service Pack 4 however this is yet to be confirmed with Microsoft.
