Summary:
Using the pre-release version of the PROFIBD driver, it was found that connection could not be re-established with a Siemens S7 PLC, following disconnection. This was because the device itself attempted to re-establish communications after a communication break, and this was not handled properly by the driver. 

Solution:
This problem has been fixed in the release version of the driver.
