Summary:

After closing a com port I am unable to restore communications using IODeviceControl() if the com port was opened in NON shared mode. I need to use NON shared mode because this is the only way to use the ComRead() function.

Solution:

CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows versions 4.xx and 5.xx This problem is fixed in version 5.1
