Summary:
SPC periodic trends will draw disjoint blocks of trend data as a continuous plot. This is in opposition to normal historical trends which display the trend data as broken under the same circumstances. 

Solution:
CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows versions 5.0 to 5.01. This problem has been fixed in version 5.10.
