Summary:
To work around performance limitations of Microsoft TCP/IP protocol the KillPiggyBackAck parameter was added in version 3.40 and 4.20. This parameter tries to disable the effects of piggybackacks on a network protocol. Piggybackacks can cause very large network performance problems for Citects real time data. On small to median Citect systems (1-5 nodes) the KillPiggyBackAck parameter will improve performance, however on larger and heavily loaded systems it may degrade performance. The only way you can tell it to try your Citect system will the parameter enabled and disabled and see which gives the best performance.

Solution:
Run your entire Citect project with the parameter set to the default of 1:

[LAN]KillPiggyBackAck=1

Test the response times of real time data onto pages. Now set the parameter to 0 on ALL Citect computers and restart all computer. Repeat the tests and see which produces the best performance. If you can see no significant performance difference then leave the parameter at the default of 1.
