Summary:
If you set a dynamic text object to change fonts and the only difference between the two fonts is the background colour, the background colour will not change or will be that of the page background. 

Solution:
CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows versions 5.10. This problem has been fixed in version 5.10 Service Pack B.
