Summary:
I wish to connect with the Fisher Remote Operations Controllers (ROC). I have heard that there is an OPC Server available from a third party supplier. 

Solution:
A Fisher ROC OPC Server has been developed by Spartan Controls, and the first commercial release of the product is now available.

The main functionality provided by the ROC OPC Server (Version 2.0.7) includes:

  1. Radio and Direct Connection of Fisher ROC's is supported.
  2. 300 and 400 Series ROC's with ROCPAC's are supported.
  3. Multi Ports are supported.

Release 3.0 of the product is expected to be available October 30th, 1998. This version will support Dial-Up connections, ROC Model 503 and all ROC's with FlashPac's.

(Editor's note: the following pricing was relevant on September 18th, 1998. Prices are, therefore, indicative only, and are subject to change without notice.) Pricing for the software is based on the number of OPC Data Items that will be passing through the server. The prices are as follows:

  • Up to 1500 Data Items: $1,400 US
  • Less than 10,000 Data Items: $3,000 US
  • Greater Than 10,000 Data Items: $5,000 US
