Summary:
Citect can be set up to provide tag data as an ODBC Server. When a query is done on a string tag the string value that is return will be the tag name instead of the correct string value. 

Solution:
CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows versions 5.XX. This problem has been fixed in version 5.10 Service Pack C.
