Summary:
Tag Import/Export format files (*.fmt) containing TAB characters don't work properly in Windows 95 and 98. This is due to a Microsoft issue; one of their function calls treats TAB characters as the end of a line in .ini files, etc., to maintain backward compatibility with some older environment.

This will cause tags to not be imported or exported correctly, and are likely to cause error messages concerning an incorrect format file to be generated.

Solution:
CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows versions 5.20. TAB characters have been removed from all format files in v5.30. If you encounter this problem, you should remove all TAB characters from all your format files, and replace them with spaces if desired.
