Summary:
Can Citect communicate to the HART OPC Server? 

Solution:
Citect can talk to the HART OPC Server using the Citect OPC Client driver.  Testing was performed using the HART OPC Server HCF_KIT-177 Revision 1.0 .

The following parameter was added to the Citect.ini file in order for Citect to communicate to the server.

[OPC]
AddItemAsVTEmpty=1

This parameter determines whether the OPC driver specifies a data type when adding an item, or whether it uses the native data type when adding items.

Allowable Values      0 (Specify data types)

                                    1 (Use native data type)

Default Value 0
