Summary:
The SNMP driver does not initialise if the wrong version of the file mfc42.dll is present in the system32 folder.

Version 4.2.6068 of mfc42.dll is installed with Windows NT and is not updated in service packs up to 6a. Installing Citect version 5.21 updates the file to version 4.21.7303. Citect service packs up to Serv. Pack E do not update the file further. The SNMP driver will not initialise with these versions of mfc42.dll.

The SNMP driver does function correctly with version 6.00.8447.0 of mfc42.dll. At the time of writing, this file is installed with Citect version 5.30 Beta1.  It is also included in an installation of Microsoft Visual C 5.0.

 

Solution:
Make sure that the correct version of mfc42.dll is present in the system32 folder.
