Summary:
The current CTAPI query timeout period of 5 minutes is insufficient for large or complex alarm or trend history queries. 

Solution:
The CTAPI query timeout period can now be specified using the new parameter QueryTimeout=<timeout in seconds> in the [CTAPI] section of citect.ini.

For example, to set a 10 minute query time out period for CTAPI add the following lines to citect.ini:

[CTAPI]
QueryTimeout=600

To set no query time out period add the following lines:

[CTAPI]
QueryTimeout=0

The default query time out period is 5 minutes.

CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows versions 5.00 to 5.21. This problem has been fixed in version 5.21 Service Pack G.
