Summary:
I am trying to link MSAccess to a Citect dbf (or a dbf file created by Citect runtime) but get the error;

"Couldn't find installable ISAM"

What is wrong and how do I fix it?

Solution:
This error message can occur if you have invalid information in the registry, or if you have a missing or a corrupted dynamic-link library (.dll) file. You may be able to resolve this error message by removing and then reinstalling the indexed sequential access method (ISAM) drivers in Microsoft Access.

The problem lies with the version of the file, Msxbse35.dll, in the WinNT\System32 folder. We need to find a dll that is compatible with your version of MSAccess and remove the current file then load the new one. For more details see the MS Kbase article Q155666.

Also see the Citect readme, search the Citect kbase on "isam". There is a version of the file, Msxbse35.dll supplied on the Citect V5.xx CDROM, it may also fix the problem.
