Summary:
When the ActiveX control is displaying a graphics page at runtime, using visibility control can bring the ActiveX control from "Hidden" to "Shown", but not from "Shown" to "Hidden".

Solution:
CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows versions 5.30. This problem has been fixed in version 5.30 Service Pack A.
