Summary:
Selecting "1st" for the file period in the trend tag form causes Citect Runtime to attempt to create a 4GB file, and the hard disk fills up. 

Solution:
CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows version 5.31. This problem has been fixed in version 5.40.
