Summary:
This problem only occurs if you shut down before Trend Redundancy requests have stopped and one or more of the [TREND] CachesSize0..8 parameters are set to low values (below 50). Even then it may not occur reliably. The same situation may also cause a 'Pure Virtual Function Call' message box to appear. 

Solution:
CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows versions 5.31. This problem has been fixed in version 5.40.
