Summary:
The problem lies on the 'disable on insufficient area or privilege' checkbox on the Disable tab of an object's properties. If you first set this in your genie, paste the genie on a page, then take away this option, you will see that the old instances still have this option set. 

Solution:
The pasted genies now update the "Disable on insufficient area or privilege" checkbox when the corresponding property changes in the original genie.

CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows version up to 5.31. This problem has been fixed in version 5.40.
