Summary:
The MBSlave driver has 10000 accessible registers which may not support PLC communication via serial port.  

Solution:
CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect. The maximum bit address has been extended from 10000 to 20000. This problem has been fixed in driver version 5.30.
