Summary:
Error in addressing variables for the SLC500 series using ABKT500 driver for element numbers greater than 255. 'Bad IO Device Variable' error occurs in compile time when attempting to address element numbers greater than 255. The address range should be extended from 255 to 999.  

Solution:
CIT has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows versions 5.20 to 5.21. The element number range have been extened from 255 to 999. This problem has been fixed in version 5.21 Service Pack C.
