Summary:
To set up the modem connected to your dialable remote I/O Device you needed to set the modem to send an identification string that had a specific data format. You may now set the string using any combination of alpha-numeric characters and/or the character '_' (underscore) with no special formatting. 

Solution:
To set up the modem connected to your dialable remote I/O Device you needed to set the modem to send an identification string known as a caller ID in the following format:

CIT<Caller ID>

(Caller ID must match the Caller ID specified for the remote I/O Device in the Express Communications Wizard.)

This specific format is now obsolete and supported only for backward compatibility.

You may now set the string in the modem using any combination of alpha-numeric characters and/or the character '_' (underscore) with no special formatting. The Caller ID must match the Caller ID exactly as specified for the remote I/O Device in the Express Communications Wizard.
