Summary:

Note:
This article has been superseded by article Q4627  - 'A Client/Server Connection is not Re-established after a Network Failure on Windows 2000/XP'.

My Citect client and server both have dual ethernet cards. If one connection is lost, Citect will switch to the other one, but if the 2nd connection is lost and the first is restored, Citect will not switch back.

Solution:
This can be caused by the Windows 2000 Media Sensing feature as documented in KB Article Q3415. Once the network card has been disconnected from the network, Citect will not use it again until Citect has been restarted. After disabling Media Sensing, Citect should be able to switch back once the network connection has been restored.
