Summary:

After migration to Windows2000 + MDAC 2.5, the cicode function SQLGetField(hSQL, sField) with a MS Access 2000 database returns an error 269, bad handle specified.

Solution:

Loading Windows 2000 service pack 2 fixes the issue. See article Q3272 for extra related information.
