Summary:
What does the error "wrong type for text display" mean and how do I get rid of it? 

Solution:
If we are using pages based on our own developed templates (not the standard templates in Citect include project) then we need to set page cicode=0 in the page properties, or leave it blank. Please do this in the page properties not in the template properties.
