Summary:
I am running Citect under Windows 2000. I have the registry set up for automatic user logon based on Knowledge Base article Q2006 for Windows NT. Automatic logon works once after booting up my PC, but after logoff the current user the logon window appears instead of automatic logon.

Solution:
Under Win2000 Professional, Win2000 Server and Win2000 Advanced Server you need an additional registry entry to operate automatic logon. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\WindowsNT\\CurrentVersion\\Winlogon you must add the AutoLogonCount REG_DWORD variable with a value different than 0. Windows 2000 automatically logs on the configured user at boot time as well as after logoff, if the number is higher than 0 . Note, that the AutoLogonCount number is decremented by 1 every time at the first logon after the boot up. If you intend to use automatic logon on site, to maintain the feature for a longer period you shall enter a high number to the AutoLogonCount entry.
