Summary:
Citect automatically disconnects a forced (IODeviceControl() type 7) connection made to a device which is already connected on a scheduled connection. 

Solution:
Citect has confirmed this to be a problem in Citect for Windows versions 5.20 to 5.40 and CitectHMI/SCADA 5.41. This problem has been fixed in version 5.41 Service Pack A.
